About the archive
The Ads of Bangladesh™ is an independent archive of Bangladeshi advertising. Since April 2014, we have documented the work, credited the people who made it, and kept it where anyone can find it.
Why it exists
Bangladesh has produced a remarkable body of advertising: press ads, television commercials, outdoor and digital work that shaped how the country shops, speaks and sees itself. Most of it was never kept. Newspapers go to recycling, agencies close, brands delete old videos, and the names of the people who made the work are lost with them.
We started in April 2014, as one of the first platforms to spotlight Bangladesh's creative industry. The mission has not changed: to archive, showcase and promote Bangladeshi advertising and design, at home and to the world. Today the archive holds 2,867 ads from 1,078 brands and 246 agencies, each documented and credited.
What we do
- Document. Every ad gets a structured record: brand, advertiser, agency, year, medium, category and the copy as it ran.
- Credit. We name the agencies and people behind the work, and correct credits whenever better information arrives.
- Explain. Our analysis starts from the archive: why a campaign worked, how a category has changed, what the industry's wins say about it.
- Share. The archive's metadata is open under CC BY 4.0, so students, researchers, journalists and AI tools can use it and cite it.
Independent by design
The Ads of Bangladesh is independent. No brand or agency can pay to be included, featured or reviewed, and editorial decisions are made by the archive's editors alone.
How we work
Every record is checked by an editor before it is published, and every record shows when it was last reviewed. We follow a published editorial policy, credit every piece of work to its owners, and respond to correction and takedown requests within seven days.
