Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so you won’t see a cookie banner. Our host may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people from bots.
Embedded video
Videos from YouTube or Vimeo load only when you press play. Until then, no data is sent to them. Once a video plays, that platform’s own privacy policy applies.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare: hosting, security and file storage
- Zoho: our editorial inbox
- Google Analytics, Clarity, and others analytics: privacy-friendly, cookie-free statistics
These providers may store data outside Bangladesh and New Zealand. We choose providers that protect it to a standard comparable with the law that applies to us.
How long we keep it
- Published submissions: the contributor’s name stays on the record if they asked to be credited. Contact details are kept for [24 months] after publication, then deleted.
- Submissions we don’t publish: deleted [12 months] after our decision.
- Correction and takedown requests: kept for [3 years], as a record of what we changed and why.
- Security logs: kept by our host for a short period, typically days.
People credited in the archive
We publish professional credits only: name, role and organization as they relate to the work. We do not publish personal contact details or private information about anyone. If you are credited and want your profile corrected or removed, email [email protected]. Removing a name from a record is considered case by case, because accurate credits are part of the historical record.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within [20 working days]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the privacy regulator where you live.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If we start collecting something new (for example, accounts for public voting), we will update this page before it starts.
